Master of Computer Applications programme is a two-year course and is spread over a period of six semesters which enables the candidates to get familiar with the usage of computer using at-least five latest programming languages and a large number of applications. The course also develops the students capabilities in preparation of system software.
The students undergo mid-term projects in industrial organizations. The placement cell helps the students in finding suitable placements.
From the academic year 2001 - 2002, the University has introduced Choice Based Credit System for all the Post-Graduate Programmes offered by the University departments except for the programme offered by the School of Management. This gives provision for the candidates to choose elective and supportive courses from other departments. The course content is updated every year and includes State-of-art evolving subject areas such as web services.

The mission of our Department is to provide very high quality education to the students in the area of Computer Applications through best practices of teaching learning process for careers in software industry/higher education/research, with full fledged Student Support System and modern learning environment to adapt to the changing learning skills.
Should have passed any recognized bachelors degree of minimum 3 years durations in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 school level (or) should have passed any recognized bachelors degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the subjects. Candidates who will be completing their U.G. degree programme during academic examinations are also eligible to apply for admission. However, their selection will be considered only if they successfully complete the degree programme and satisfy the above eligibility conditions at the time of admission. Candidates who do not fulfill the eligibility conditions on the day of admission will not be considered for admission. The candidates should have completed 10+2+3 years of study before being admitted to the M. C. A. course.
Candidates for admission to the first year course leading to the Degree of Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A) will be required to posses the qualification as per AICTE norms: A pass in any Degree with Mathematics at +2 level or any degree with at least one paper in Mathematics / Statistics at Degree Level. In case of SC/ST Candidates, a mere pass in any of the above Bachelor's Degree will be sufficient.
This Course of Study shall be based on Semester System. This Course shall consist of Four Semesters covering a total of Two Academic Years. For this purpose, each Academic Year shall be divided into two Semesters; the first and third Semesters; July to November and the second and fourth Semesters; December to April. The Practical Examinations shall be conducted at the end of each Semester.
The Course of the Degree of Master of Computer Applications(MCA) shall be under the Semester System according to the Syllabus to be prescribed from time to time. This Course consists of Core Subjects and Elective Subjects. An additional Diploma in Web Applications is along with this course.
